Farm Performance Specialist – West Region

Position Overview
DeLaval is seeking a Farm Performance Specialist – West Region to support dealers and customers in optimizing the performance of DeLaval milking solutions and technologies in alignment with farm objectives and goals. This role is a key contributor to delivering a Total Customer Experience and will report to the Farm Performance Manager.
The position supports customers primarily within the Western United States and requires extensive regional travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Train dealers and customers on new technologies, solutions, and best practices
- Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 on‑farm support, including:
- Startup assistance
- Follow‑up and performance optimization
- Performance enhancement in collaboration with Advisors
- Support field research activities, including test and pilot sites
- Document customer needs and requirements to support future product, solution, and advisory development
- Collaborate with Sales and Technical Services teams to deliver holistic, customer‑centric support
- Participate in the development and application of innovative methods and tools to support customers, advisors, and portfolio managers
Required Skills & Competencies
- Ability to travel approximately 50% within the assigned West Region
- Working knowledge and support capability in:
- Automatic and Semi‑Automatic Milking Technologies
- Precision Animal Management
- Intelligent Milking Systems
- Milk Quality
- Herd Management and Digital Services
- Strong customer focus with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across functions
Experience & Background
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Dairy Science, or a related technical field
or - Minimum 4+ years of relevant practical experience in dairy, animal health, farm management, or related fields
- Practical understanding of dairy operations and customer support environments
- Self‑starter with a positive attitude and strong problem‑solving skills
