Primary Purpose
The Campus Special Education Specialist supports campuses in building teacher capacity and improving student outcomes through coaching, professional development, and implementation of inclusive, data-driven practices. This role ensures compliance with IEP requirements and district, state, and federal guidelines. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas Teaching Certification
Valid Special Education Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Knowledge of qualifying disabilities and programs in CCISD
Knowledge of statewide assessments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of computer software and multimedia tools
Leadership and problem-solving skills
Embrace CCISD instructional philosophy and initiatives
Expertise in behavior management principles and evidence-based behavior strategies.
Familiarity with crisis prevention and intervention techniques
Ability to apply proactive, instructional behavior supports and accurately collect and interpret data to inform decision-making.

Experience
3+ years of successful teaching experience
Varied grade levels of instructional experience preferred
Experience working with diverse student populations preferred
Experience in leadership roles at the campus or district level, including responsibilities such as coaching staff, leading teams or initiatives, and providing support to educators.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide Coaching and consultation to campus administrators, teachers, and staff who work with students receiving services.
- Consult with special education campus staff on effective behavior management strategies to support student needs.
- Advise campus teams in decision-making regarding Extended School Year (ESY) services for eligible students.
- Support campuses in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and writing behavior-related IEP goals and objectives.
- Support campuses in progress monitoring goals and objectives
- Collaborate in the development of Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) to ensure alignment with student instructional and behavioral needs and support ARD meeting preparation.
- Support parent training to include materials, resources, and possible in-home training support
- Meet with teachers and PLCs to support the planning and delivery of instruction, modeling research-based interventions for staff
- Provide instructional materials and exemplar lessons for effective teaching/learning strategies, classroom designs, technology integration, and differentiated instruction
- Routinely review data to ensure appropriate services and supports are provided to students.
- Collaborate with campus and district personnel to review and analyze student data to guide appropriate placement and program recommendations.
- Maintain documentation of campus coaching support and professional learning.
- Participate in department and district professional learning opportunities for staff and families.
- Design and deliver professional development for campuses and district staff, including training in crisis prevention and intervention techniques.
