About the Role

No prior medical assistant experience? No problem — we are willing to train the right candidate!

At Logan Health – Wellness & Pain Management in Kalispell, we are committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to our community. You will receive hands-on training in patient care, clinical procedures, and office operations, with full support to help you succeed and grow in your career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and provider visits

  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient information accurately

  • Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with exams and minor procedures

  • Perform clinical tasks including (but not limited to) suture/staple removal, dressing application, splints, and casts

  • Collect and process laboratory specimens per protocol

  • Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies based on patient and provider needs

  • Clean and disinfect equipment according to infection control policies

  • Support scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, and patient follow-up

  • Manage incoming calls and patient portal messages, routing appropriately

  • Assist with patient registration and collection of co-payments as needed

  • Participate in departmental meetings, process improvement, and risk-related activities

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record

  • May perform scribe duties (if trained and competent), including transcription and documentation review

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety standards, and organizational policies

  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications (one of the following):

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assisting program

  • Completion of a medical assistant program (minimum 720 clock hours, including 160-hour externship) from an accredited institution

Certification Requirement:
Must obtain one of the following certifications within 12 months of hire:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – AAMA

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – AMT

  • Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – NHA

  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – NCCT

  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification – AMCA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a clinical or practice setting

  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to end of orientation)

  • Medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and laboratory values

  • Familiarity with medical equipment, safety practices, aseptic technique, and infection control

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards

  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and multitasking skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and care teams

  • Ability to adapt to changing workloads and prioritize tasks appropriately

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete all onboarding education and competencies prior to performing assigned tasks

  • Must practice within the Logan Health MA/UAP Scope of Practice and only perform validated competencies

Day Shift - 10 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
