Position Overview:
As a Prep Cook, you will play a key role in preparing ingredients and assembling salads in high volumes. Your responsibilities will span the entire salad-making process—from prepping and assembling to labeling and packing orders for shipment. Attention to detail and efficiency are essential in maintaining quality and consistency throughout production.
Responsibilities:
- Taking customer orders, processing transactions and handling payments accurately
- Inputting orders into the point of sales (POS) system and ensuring accuracy of orders
- Greeting customers warmly and providing information about menu items, specials and promotions
- Addressing customer inquiries, concerns and special requests in a professional and courteous manner
- Assisting in the preparation of food items including but not limited to – assembling dishes, making beverages etc
- Ensuring prepared food items are made according to company recipes and adhering to healthy and safety regulations
- Keeping the food court area clean and organized which includes but not limited to – tables, chairs, service counters etc
- Performing regular cleaning tasks such as but not limited to – emptying and disposing of trash, cleaning floors (sweeping/mopping), cleaning counters etc
- Monitoring inventory levels of food and beverage items
- Restocking supplies, condiments, utensils etc
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and provide accurate change
- Reconcile cash register at the beginning and end of each shift
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Schedule:
- Full time position
- 6am-2pm Monday- Friday
- Must have a flexible schedule to work weekends evenings and holidays as schedule can change according to business needs
Compensation:
- $17.50-18.00 per hour depending on experience.
Experience:
- Preferred: Zero to One (0-1) years food service experience
- Preferred: Serve Safe Certification
Skills:
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shift
