Job Description

Position Overview:
As a Prep Cook, you will play a key role in preparing ingredients and assembling salads in high volumes. Your responsibilities will span the entire salad-making process—from prepping and assembling to labeling and packing orders for shipment. Attention to detail and efficiency are essential in maintaining quality and consistency throughout production.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Taking customer orders, processing transactions and handling payments accurately
  • Inputting orders into the point of sales (POS) system and ensuring accuracy of orders
  • Greeting customers warmly and providing information about menu items, specials and promotions
  • Addressing customer inquiries, concerns and special requests in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assisting in the preparation of food items including but not limited to – assembling dishes, making beverages etc
  • Ensuring prepared food items are made according to company recipes and adhering to healthy and safety regulations
  • Keeping the food court area clean and organized which includes but not limited to – tables, chairs, service counters etc
  • Performing regular cleaning tasks such as but not limited to – emptying and disposing of trash, cleaning floors (sweeping/mopping), cleaning counters etc
  • Monitoring inventory levels of food and beverage items
  • Restocking supplies, condiments, utensils etc
  • Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and provide accurate change
  • Reconcile cash register at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Schedule:

  • Full time position
  • 6am-2pm Monday- Friday
  • Must have a flexible schedule to work weekends evenings and holidays as schedule can change according to business needs 

 

Compensation:

  • $17.50-18.00 per hour depending on experience. 

 

Experience:

  • Preferred: Zero to One (0-1) years food service experience
  • Preferred:  Serve Safe Certification

 

Skills:

  • Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shift
  • Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders daily
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill large quantities in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Working in a team-based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
  • Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
  • Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
