About the role:
You will be responsible for prospecting, soliciting, and developing new business partnerships with a clientele composed of medium to large sized organizations to promote and sell products and services. You will also ensure consistency and balance between sales objectives and portfolio profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline with key industry contacts and decision makers (Accounts with retail financing volume)
In collaboration with Legal, Finance and Risk, negotiate and oversee the rollout of profitable credit programs to new business partners
Establish and execute strategies designed to secure relationships with new retailers.
Serve as the contact person for both company and the retailer on significant issues.
Assists in the resolution of issues arising between merchant, merchants' customers and Fairstone.
What we’re looking for:
University Degree - preferably in Business Administration or equitable work experience.
5 - 7 years’ experience in retail finance industry with a sales background.
Knowledge of competitive practices within the industry.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills are required to:
Analyze market to identify business opportunities and understand the competition;
Analyze market and internal operations to determine proper business mix and resource allocation as they relate to profitability;
Research and respond to customer inquiries promptly and accurately, constant negotiation with both retailers and other departments within our company;
Ability to perform financial calculations;
Demonstrated strong communication skills (oral and written) with all levels of employees, management and customers and possess confident and effective public speaking skills.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently while looking for ways to change/modify current processes for improved efficiencies.
Proficient in MS Office products to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license.
Flexible to work public holidays, weekends and evenings
You must be able to communicate in both French and English with our internal teams and collaborators across Canada (50% French and 50% English).
