Summary:
This position will supervise and oversee the day-to-day operations, provide support for improvement activities, as well as several administrative functions for the department. The Fructose Supervisor will provide support to the Department Superintendent in the areas of daily, weekly and annual scheduling, coordination of training, action item follow-up, colleague development and reviews, as well as completing updates on standard operating procedures and training updates/development. This individual shall be a part of directing all Fructose team members in a manner that results in a cohesive, focused, positive work environment; while ensuring compliance with plant policies, procedures and priorities. Success of this role can be measured by improvements in various metrics, including safety, process safety, food safety, training, cost, efficiency, throughput, and profitability.

Specific Job Duties
- Manage plant operations and loading to maintain personnel and process safety.
- Work proactively with department to meet project and production completion deadlines
- Communicate timely with the Fructose Superintendent to troubleshoot situations that may arise
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational reliability, supporting production, maintenance planning, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Recommendations for improvements to company facilities, equipment and safety programs. Work with the Fructose Superintendent to coordination the implementation.
- Interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance by:
- Leading by example with an “Incidents Are Preventable” mindset.
- Encouraging safe work practices, environmental awareness, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to safety programs, equipment, and facilities.
- Provide employees with resources, in good working order, to safely and efficiently complete a task.
- Supports Quality and the Food Safety Management System and possibly as member of the Food Safety
- Finishes tasks as assigned in GEMINI, APECs, Sphera, and other compliance systems and marks as complete before given due date to remain in compliance.

- Coordinate operation of production area by:
- Interacts directly with Lead Operators and Shift Champions to produce desired operational results and employee development.
- Interacts with Loadout Team to provide direction and support to keep product moving and ensure all loading and rail policies are being met.
- Coordinates with Loadout Team and Logistics Department to set plan and direction for railyard crew/day shift Loaders.
- Continually fine-tuning and optimizing the process, to improve efficiency and safety in the production area.
- Conducts daily review of regular reports (i.e. Fructose Daily, sensory panels, Operator Notes, PI Vision Trends, etc.).
- Draft and distribute evening and weekend operational updates to ensure seamless communication and continuity
- Remain available as an on-call resource during evenings and weekends for production and quality issue resolution.
- Chemical and supply management through Coupa system as assigned
- Leads in the development of area optimization projects through:
- MOC generating
- AFE generating
- Issuing of Work Requests
- Walking down and punch list development of projects and jobs.
- Following through on projects or jobs until completed.
- Advance the Operator In Training (OIT) program by:
- Enhancing training materials and identifying needs in collaboration with the Fructose Superintendent.
- Developing individualized training plans.
- Coaching employees toward higher levels of job proficiency.
- Facilitate open communication across all levels of the team by:
- Actively listening to employee concerns and suggestions. Ensure communication and completion for positive morale within the department.
- Addressing safety, environmental, and quality issues as they arise.
- Participating in and contributing to safety, area, and supervisor meetings.
- Keeping management informed of operational status, employee morale, quality and safety trends.
- Direct leadership and supervision of operations personnel:
- Active in production area employees selection (i.e. interviewing and hiring) and orientation of new employees.
- Provide positive reinforcement when employees are observed producing good results and safe performance
- Verbal feedback to employees on regular occurrence and formal documented employee evaluations twice per year.
- Delivery of disciplinary action in alignment with the HR department.
- Hourly scheduling and timecard management as assigned.
- Act as primary liaison for vendors, suppliers, and consultants related to the assigned production areas, ensuring effective collaboration and service delivery.
- Supports other areas affected by production responsibilities (Loadout, Wastewater, and Ethanol) and gives guidance with whole plant’s best interest in mind through Shift Superintendent or upper plant management.
- Participates in self-development to position for future personal growth, preparing for future advancement opportunities
- Perform similar or additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- Strong track record for commitment to safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross functional teams.
- Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently
- High level of motivation and results-oriented way of working.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and train personnel
- Demonstrated ability to understand, operate and troubleshoot
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize daily/weekly/long term duties, projects and goals and able to reprioritize these items as needs change.
- Demonstrated ability to accept instruction, coaching and constructive criticism as tools for CI.
- Good attendance record with our company.
- 1 or more years of experience in leadership role or direct supervision of people
- Strong organizational skills and ability to plan priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) for coordination, training, and reporting
- Demonstrates ability to lead a team effectively.
- Ability to configure and utilize (or willingness to learn) about databases and data systems.
- Performance Excellence participation.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

$58,100.00 - $108,000.00
