We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Stretch & Strength Instructor to join our team at the Community Athletic Center on a contractor basis. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of stretching and strength training techniques, with a passion for helping individuals improve their physical health and wellness. This role involves designing and leading engaging classes, providing personalized instruction, and fostering a supportive community atmosphere.

Position Overview:
Fennville Community Recreation is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Senior Stretch &
Strength Instructor to lead low-impact fitness classes designed for older adults. The ideal
candidate is patient, encouraging, and skilled at creating a safe, supportive environment that
focuses on mobility, balance, flexibility, and functional strength.
Qualifications
• Experience leading fitness classes,
preferably with older adult populations
• Knowledge of low-impact
exercise techniques, stretching,
and functional movement
• Strong communication and
interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt exercises for different
mobility and fitness levels
• CPR/First Aid certification
(preferred or willingness to
obtain)
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead senior-focused stretch and strength
classes for participants of varying ability
levels
• Design and guide safe, low-impact exercises
that improve flexibility, balance, and strength
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations,
and modifications as needed
• Monitor participants to ensure proper form
and reduce risk of injury
• Foster a positive, welcoming, and
socially engaging class environment
• Communicate effectively with
participants and program staff
• Arrive prepared and on time for
scheduled classes
• Maintain awareness of equipment
and space usage within school
facilities

Preferred Skills:
• Background in fitness, physical education, physical therapy, occupational therapy,
or related field
• Experience working with senior populations or community recreation programs
• Familiarity with balance training and mobility-focused exercise programming
