Job Description

The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for meeting goals and objectives as set by the CEO. The focus of this role is to educate patients regarding surgical options and advise patients regarding their insurance coverage and available payment plans. Must listen to and assess the needs of each patient and quickly provide the appropriate solution to meet the patient’s needs. In addition will need to collect detailed patient information and coordinate with ambulatory surgical center.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for maintaining extensive current knowledge of the surgical procedures, pricing and policies and use this information to provide the highest level of service to our patients.
  • Properly document and use key information in call tracking/call management systems.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork to process orders.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and as a knowledgeable consultant to the patient.
  • Work under the direction of the manager and department lead in accordance with department and/or company timelines, priorities, programs, objectives.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • At least 1 year experience in sales, preferably inside sales.
  • Experience in medical field highly desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required. 
  • Good computer skills and typing speed.
  • Confident, self-motivated, flexible with strong sales and closing skills.
  • Excellent work ethics.

 

Competencies 

 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Solid understanding of English grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and proactive with the ability to execute tasks with minimal instruction.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with strict timelines. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cohesive, results-oriented team.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer Literacy advanced MS Office/Excel skills. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents including process, procedure, and manuals.

 

Working Conditions

 

Work is performed inside a temperature-controlled office building with open floor plan. This job operates in a professional office environment with a business casual dress code. This role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.   Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
