Job Title: Forklift Operator

Department: Operations

Reports To: General Manager

Position Type: Full Time

Shift/Schedule: 1st Shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm - Monday - Friday

Wage: $18.00 + $1.50 shift diff per hour when applicable

Purpose of Position:

Operate power equipment to safely handle product while performing receiving and/or shipping processes. Ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety in all material handling operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product.
  • Use RF scan devices to track inventory and ensure accuracy.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and customer-specific instructions. 
  • Complete required documentation (receiving tickets, pick lists, load reports).
  • Inspect inbound/outbound shipments for accuracy and damage. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and daily stretching routines.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain material handling equipment certification.
  • Experience operating forklifts preferred (training available). 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. 
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. 
  • Capable of bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, and reaching overhead. 
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment. 

Performance Expectations:


Productivity:

  • Meet or exceed account-specific productivity standards.
  • Understand product locations, picking, and loading strategies.
  • Accurately complete daily handling  hour tracking. 

Safety:

  • Follow all dock, forklift, and product handling safety procedures. 
  • Complete daily equipment inspections before use.
  • Report all incidents, accidents, or hazards immediately. 
  • Follow all safety and security policies. 

Handling:

  • Properly stack, store, and load products according to requirements. 
  • Follow all SOPs related to product handling.

Quality:

  • Ensure all shipments are accurate and damage-free.
  • Verify product using RF scanning and documentation. 
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and report discrepancies. 
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and thoroughly. 

Initiative:

  • Participate in pre-shift and team meetings. 
  • Support housekeeping and overall warehouse organization. 
  • Develop knowledge across multiple functions within the operation.
