Shift Type: Varied; Monday and Tuesday OFF
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Greets patrons and communicates racing information as requested in a friendly, professional manner, including race results, reading programs, wagering advice, issuance of vouchers for self-service machines and giving instruction on how to place a wager.
- Quickly and accurately depresses corresponding numbered key of terminal in accordance with patron’s wager instructions and provides patron with ejected wager ticket in a timely manner.
- Accepts money and makes appropriate change.
- Accounts for all cashed or cancelled tickets and forwards to the Mutuel money room for verification and reconciliation.
- Follows departmental cash handling procedures daily.
- Handles large sums of cash and maintains an accurate cash balance.
- Checks for counterfeit bills in accordance with company procedure.
- Checks patron identification to determine minimum age limit is met.
- Knowledge of AML and Title 31 procedures
- Participates in meetings, training and other company-related activities as scheduled.
- Seeks out the assistance of a supervisor to address questions and concerns.
- Answers wagering rules and policies questions when requested.
- Maintains a working knowledge of facilities, as well as special events, in order to advise patrons of same, whenever possible.
- Assists other Mutuel Tellers within the assigned area, as needed.
- Responsible for completing end-of-day cash and balance procedures.
- Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records, monies and reports.
- Logs on and off terminal daily in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures in accordance with company standards.
- Follows all company policies and procedures, including pari-mutuels wagering rules and Racing Commission rules.

AGE and GAMING:
21 years of age or above
NH Gaming License
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to process and reconcile customer transactions.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations. Requires the ability to understand and follow Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and be adept and proactive in problem solving. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The Employee will be required to lift up to 50lbs from floor level to chest height. The employee is also constantly required to stand, walk, stoop, lift, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. This position requires the use of tools and equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Summary
The Mutuels Teller sells wagers on Simulcast horse races and greyhound races, makes changes, cashes winnings tickets, checks ID’s, and maintains an accurate cash balance. Explains wagering rules and company procedures in a friendly and ethical manner.
