ABOUT LLCHC 



Lower Lights Christian Health Center (LLCHC) transforms the overall health of Central Ohio, serving one individual at a time. We are focused on whole-person wellness, available to ALL in Central Ohio who need it, regardless of ability to pay!  In 2019 alone, we served over 12,000 patients - with 40% being uninsured - and totaled 50,000+ medical encounters!



Operating out of seven locations, we offer medical care (primary care, dental, vision, OB/GYN, telehealth), behavioral health care, 340B pharmacy, nutritional assistance programs, and more. Working hours are Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday morning coverage. 



SUMMARY:



The primary purpose of this position is to schedule specialty tests, procedures and specialists consult visits.  This should be done in an organized fashion.  Attention to detail and follow-up are a must.



ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



RESPONSIBILITY 1. Scheduling Appointments




  1. To promptly assist providers and patients in accessing needed specialty appointments and tests.

  2. To perform any necessary insurance authorizations for needed appointments and tests outside of LLCHC.

  3. To concisely and accurately document efforts to make ordered appointments and to inform patients of appointments.

  4. To communicate with the provider and document in the chart the status of appointments.

  5. Maintain Referral tracking spreadsheet.

  6. To complete Prior Authorizations with Payers, when needed.



RESPONSIBILITY 2. Other LLCHC Responsibilities




  1. To be crossed trained in the assimilation, distribution, and copying of requested medical records for LLCHC patients.  Also the storage and filing of inactive medical records.

  2. To back up the front office by helping with answering the phones and patients in the office at high volume times.

  3. To be cross trained to fill in if needed in the front office checking patients in and out.

  4. Possesses the ability to prioritize and organize daily work.

  5. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with the medical staff, front office staff, patients and other medical offices.

  6. Demonstrates knowledge of office safety and an ability to keep the business office clean, organized and a safe environment for all.



Working under stressful conditions as well as irregular hours may be required.

Qualifications



  • At least high school diploma or equivalent; 

  • two years prior experience in a physician’s office; 

  • working knowledge of medical terminology;

  • basic computer knowledge;
