Job Description

Lick Honest Ice Creams is a fast-growing, multi-location brand known for crafting small-batch ice creams from real, locally sourced ingredients. As we scale, we’re looking for a Financial Controller who can bring structure, clarity, and discipline to our financial operations while supporting confident, informed decision-making at the leadership level.

What You’ll Own

  • Full financial visibility across the business—cash flow, liabilities, and operational performance
  • Daily and weekly cash management, including prioritization of payments and obligations
  • Debt tracking and repayment strategy, built and managed proactively
  • Accurate and timely monthly and year-to-date Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets
  • Oversight of taxes, insurance, leases, and compliance requirements
  • Financial systems, reporting cadence, and process improvements

What You’ll Actually Do

  • Turn fragmented financial data into clear, actionable priorities
  • Partner with the CEO and operations leaders to guide decisions with real-time insights
  • Build and maintain a structured approach to managing debt and financial commitments
  • Identify risks early and bring solutions—not just problems
  • Establish discipline in how money moves through the business

Who You Are

  • Highly self-managed—you take ownership without needing oversight
  • Detail-obsessed but able to clearly communicate the big picture
  • Fast-moving without sacrificing accuracy
  • Systems-minded—you build processes that last, not quick fixes
  • Comfortable speaking with executives and translating financial complexity into clarity
  • Motivated by bringing stability and structure to a growing company

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or controller-level roles
  • Strong understanding of cash flow management, debt structuring, and financial reporting
  • Experience in multi-unit, retail, hospitality, or food & beverage businesses preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and financial modeling tools
  • CPA or equivalent experience is a plus

Why Lick

  • Be a key leader in a mission-driven, high-growth brand
  • Direct impact on the financial health and scalability of the company
  • Work closely with founders and executive leadership
  • Opportunity to build systems and strategy from the ground up
  •  Competitive salary + performance-based incentives
