Job Description

 


POSITION:                          Assistant Cheerleader Coach


 


LOCATION:                          Musselman High School


 


QUALIFICATIONS:            


 


Candidates must possess or be eligible for West Virginia Teacher Certification; or, possess or have the ability to obtain the WV Coaching Authorization (High School Diploma or GED Required), prior to the start of the season. This includes successful completion of a three-day ASEP / WVSSAC certification training class, with three online exams, followed by four NFHS / WVSSAC online courses, with online exams and required Safeschools trainings.


 


 


ACCOUNTABLE TO:          Head Coach/ Principal/ Athletic Director


 


FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:        


 



  1. Responsible for assisting in the administration of the designated sports program

  2. Assist in the development of team philosophies and responsibilites

  3. Supervision of players 

  4. Inventory of all equipment

  5. Work with head coach and athletic director/principal on program budget

  6. Maintenance of fields and facilities input

  7. Prepare practice/game plans

  8. Supervise an off-season strength and conditioning program

  9. Assist in program to follow player academic progress

  10. Care of injuries

  11. Develop positive relationship with players, parents, students, coaches, band, faculty, officials, media, and the community

  12. Be knowledgeable of all WVSSAC rules and strictly adhere to the same

  13. Attend required WVSSAC clinics

  14. Assist in organizing supplemental funding activities to support the program

  15. Cooperate in supervision and evaluation of coach(es) 

  16. Partcicipate in staff development opportunities for assistant coaches

  17. Participate in the school’s Sportsmanship Program and Scholar/Athlete Program

  18. Cooperate with athletic director/principal, head coach, and fellow coaches and students to promote the best interested of the entire athetic program

  19. Communicate effectively with head coach, athletic director and/or prinicpalregarding all operations and activities. 

  20. Perform additional, reasonable, job-related responsibilities as assigned by the head coach, athletic director and/or building principal


 


COMPENSATION: 


 


Pay based on approved BCS Coaching Stipend Schedule
