Join Our Team in the Surgery Department as a Surgical Technologist at Caribou Medical Center (Soda Springs, ID)

What You’ll Do

• Perioperative Care

  • Set up surgical suites using physician pick lists and protocols

  • Scrub in, maintain the sterile field, and assist the surgical team during procedures

  • Ensure surgical tools and equipment are safe, sterilized, and in good condition

  • Apply dressings and assist with patient transfer post-procedure

  • Perform surgical counts and ensure compliance with safety protocols

• Team Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with OR staff to maintain equipment and supplies at optimal levels

  • Help update and maintain accurate procedure worksheets and pick lists

  • Communicate effectively across departments and contribute to a positive team culture

  • Assist with documentation, schedules, and messages as needed

• Instrument Care & Sterilization

  • Clean, inspect, and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization

  • Operate sterilization equipment and support sterile processing duties when needed

• Other Responsibilities

  • Support perioperative services manager and surgical staff as needed

  • Take call shifts and respond promptly to emergency surgical needs

Work Environment: This job operates in a hospital setting.  This role requires regular walking to various locations around the hospital.  This role may come in contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.  There is risk of exposure to blood and bodily fluids, latex, and odors/chemicals.  There is risk of exposure to unpredictable behavior from patients and families.

Requirements

Required:

• Active Nursing License ( LPN) or Certified Scrub Tech (CST)

• Current BLS Certification

• Complete Perioperative 101 within 1 year of hire

Preferred:

• Previous surgical experience
