Job Description

About the Department

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Community Services Specialist II is responsible for assisting with preparation for daily activities, events, and meetings.


Position Duties

Set up and arrange rooms for daily activities, classes, programs, and meetings.  Set up may include arranging tables, chairs, and equipment as necessary.

Assist with supervision of private rentals.

Assist with transportation of food from Nutrition Program caterer to Senior Center.

Assist with cleaning of surfaces, equipment, floors, etc.

Notify supervisor when supplies are needed.

Assist in loading and unloading of items and receiving goods.

Keep simple records.

Perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimally, must have obtained a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.   

Other Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work cooperatively with the public, volunteers, and fellow employees in an enthusiastic and constructive manner.

Ability to stand, sit, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, and lift 50 pounds.

Ability to read, write, and do simple math.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

 

Special Conditions:

Must be available to work flexible schedule, as well as nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be in possession of valid CA driver's license.

Must be in possession of, or able to obtain, valid Food Handler’s Certificate.

 

Required Apparel:

Person hired must wear standard apparel as prescribed by the Parks and Community Services Department.
