How You’ll Make a Difference
Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a SAP Development Lead. The SAP Development Lead is responsible for leading development and support efforts in Valvoline's SAP ecosystem utilizing ABAP and modern frameworks provided by BTP. Responsibilities include designing, documenting, coding, testing, debugging, modifying, and implementing new or existing solutions for SAP. Role also provides technical oversight and leadership, mentoring, and code reviews for a team of developers and manages day-to-day coordination of internal IT, business partners, managed service provider(s) and other 3rd party vendor activities as it relates to driving delivery for development technologies in scope
· Lead the SAP development team, ensure the team’s effectiveness and productivity in supporting the organization’s business objectives and operations. Includes but not limited to:
Support business partners in day-to-day process / system issues through Service Desk incidents.
Support interfaces with other internal or external systems and partners
After-hours and on-call support for applications
· Collaborate with business partners and key stakeholders to understand their business requirements and translate them into effective application solutions
· Design, architect, and develop complex application solutions, including API, report, and UI Designs.
· Lead the development of application development frameworks and reusable components to streamline development projects
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with the 3rd party managed services provider, ensuring effective collaboration and service delivery.
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to SAP developers on complex development projects.
· Analyze existing application solutions and identify opportunities for improvement, streamlining workflows, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
· Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in integration services and related technologies, recommending new solutions to enhance our systems and processes
· Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion
What You’ll Need to Succeed
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, information management, or a related field
· SAP Certified Associate – Back-End Developer – ABAP Cloud is preferred
· Proven experience (minimum 8 years) with SAP ABAP Development
· Proven experience (minimum 2 years) with SAP ABAP RAP, ODATA, and CDS development
· Experience with Fiori and UI5 development preferred
· 2 years’ experience as a lead developer role
· SAP Retail Industry experience
· Hana data modeling experience
· Strong knowledge of enterprise architectural principles, including data architecture, application architecture, and development patterns.
· Proven experience designing resilient extensions and applications.
· Proficiency in programming languages relevant to development and data modeling techniques: ABAP, Odata, Hana data modeling, and Java or JavaScript at a minimum. Fiori, UI5, and CAP application experience preferred.
· Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
· Experience working with 3rd party managed services providers and effectively managing vendor relationships.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results within defined timelines
