Job Description
The elementary classroom teacher for Grades K-5 shares the responsibility with the building faculty and administrators for an educational program for pupils in Grades K-5.
A. Provides learning experiences which include leading pupils to reaching stated goals and objectives.
B. Identifies pupil needs by continuous evaluation of academic and social growth; keeps records; prepares progress reports; and communicates with parents on the pupil's progress.
C. Provides planned experiences that motivate pupils toward independent and original thought.
D. Cooperates with and seeks help from other professionals to assess and help pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
E. Develops a program to meet the needs of pupils with widely varying intelligence and capabilities, and provides an environment conducive to learning.
F. Encourages and seeks to maintain an environment in which each individual is responsible for his own behavior.
G. Works cooperatively in measuring student growth; evaluates each pupil's progress in knowledge and skills; and prepares progress reports; cooperatives with grade level, school, and district assessment programs.
H. Initiates and evaluates the curriculum development within the school and/or district.
I. Instructs students in emergency procedures and supervises drills.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Multiple Subject Credential with BCLAD (Mandarin)
Desirable Qualifications:
Previous successful teaching experience
Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic community
Bilingual ability
