Job Description

About the Department

This position is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients of the Center for Family Medicine.  Duties will include a combination of patient care, research and teaching activities. 

Position Duties

Teaching 15%
A. Actively precept as teaching physician in the resident outpatient clinics to include not only patient care aspects and procedural skills but also time management skills, doctor-patient relationship, professionalism, ethical and legal considerations, billing and coding.
Service 80%
A. Provide direct patient care to own panel of patients at the Jacksonville site.
B. Conduct procedure clinics as needed per patient demand.
D.Participate in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities.
E.Provide emergency services to patients as needed including those who are identified as having no primary care physician.
F. Serve on the Center-wide Committees, as assigned.
G. Serve on school and department committees, as assigned.
H. Participate in community boards and outreach projects.
I. Attend faculty meeting and residency didactic sessions.
Administration 0%
Research 5%
A. Conduct research in areas of particular interest and publish in referred journals.
B. Attendance/presentation at national professional meetings.
C. Per RRC requirements, must complete a minimum of 2 scholarly activities every 5 years.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
2. Must possess an MD or DO degree
3. Must have graduated from an accredited residency training program at time of hire.
4. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine at time of hire
5. Licensed or Eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois

Other Qualifications

The budgeted annual salary range is $220,375 to $242,412, representing the academic base salary only, which is funded through the University. The final academic base salary will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget considerations. Additional clinical compensation will be provided separately through a member practice agreement.

Additional incentive compensation may also be available for clinical work performed beyond the standard scope of responsibilities.
