The Possibilities Program is seeking a Family & School-Engagement Social Worker (Possibilities Specialist) to join our innovative, student-centered team. This role blends direct clinical work, family engagement, and school collaboration to create lasting change for students and families.

Possibilities Program | Racker | TST BOCES Partnership Full-Time | 10.5-Month School-Year Position
Schedule & Compensation
- 37.5 hours/week | Monday–Friday
- 10.5-month school-year schedule (summers off!)
- Salary: $45,000 – $55,000* , based on experience and education
- Milage Reimbursement
- *please note 12 month salary equivalent is ($50,870-$62,174)
About the Program
The Possibilities Program is a forward-thinking outreach and consultation service in partnership with TST BOCES and local school districts. We provide short-term, high-impact support (3–4 months) for K–12 students and families navigating social, emotional, and school-related challenges.

Family & Student Support
- Provide short-term (3–4 month) intensive support
- Conduct intake interviews, social histories, and ecological assessments
- Develop and implement Collaborative Care Plans with families and schools
- Provide: Individual counseling, Parent Coaching, Case management
- Create sustainable discharge plans for long-term success
School Collaboration
- Build strong partnerships with educators and school teams
- Observe students and classrooms; provide strengths-based recommendations
- Facilitate solution-focused, collaborative meetings
- Deliver training and coaching to school staff as needed
Lighthouse Classroom Support (up to 10 hrs./week)
- Provide in-class coaching and therapeutic support as needed for transitional support
- Facilitate weekly group counseling (45 minutes)
- Participate in team meetings and student planning
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain timely documentation and database entry
- Participate in supervision and team collaboration
- Travel to schools, homes, and community locations as needed
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work or related mental health field
- Experience with youth, families, or school-based/community work
- Strong understanding of:
- Trauma-informed care
- Family systems
- Culturally responsive practices
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to use a personal smartphone for work communication (work number provided)
Preferred Qualifications
- LMSW/LCSW (or eligibile)
- Experience in school settings or educational environments
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply
