Local 669 Sprinkler Fitter
Work Description
As a Service Sprinkler Fitter, you’ll inspect, maintain, and repair fire protection systems in both existing facilities and retrofit projects, ensuring systems remain fully operational and code compliant.
Job Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler systems
- Perform repairs to existing sprinkler systems, assessing impairments, and determining corrective actions
- Interpret and follow sprinkler system blueprints; recommend adjustments for site-specific needs
- Fit and fabricate pipes on-site when required
- Operate hand, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools safely and effectively
- Collaborate with crew members and foreman; occasionally work independently
- Train and mentor assigned apprentices
- Plan ahead for labor and materials to keep projects on schedule
- Maintain communication with superintendent and office staff
- Ensure compliance with fire codes, safety standards, and company policies
- Safely drive company vehicles (must meet driving record standards)
Job Qualifications
- Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter license (Local 669)
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and driving record review
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills
- Physical ability to climb ladders, lift equipment, and wear PPE
- Organized and able to work in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
- Proficient in using phones, tablets, and other technology-based systems
- Commitment to safety and continuous learning
