    Physical Education Teacher

    Responsibilities Include: 

    • Delivering a comprehensive physical education program that promotes fitness, health, and well-being among the students.
    • Create engaging lesson plans, foster a positive learning environment, and assess the progress.
    • Develop and implement age appropriate physical education lesson plans that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles.
    • Evaluate student progress in physical skills, fitness levels, and provide constructive feedback.
    • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to ensure a productive and respectful learning environment during physical activities.
    • Promote safety and wellness by adhering to established protocols, including CPR/AED certification.
    • Ensure that all activities are conducted safely and that students understand the importance of health and fitness.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, administrators, and the community to support achievement and promote the importance of physical education and health.
    • Engage in ongoing professional growth opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum developments in physical education and health. 

    Essential Duties:

    • Communicates responsibly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and school leadership;
    • Accounts for student attendance and punctuality;
    • Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures;
    • Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities;

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent;
    • Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communication;
    • Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction;
    • Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale;
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Proven communication and instructional strategies;
    • Classroom management skills;
    • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing;
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Strong proficiency in music theory and performance and a passion for encouraging a love of music in students. 

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university;
    • Valid NJ CE, CEAS, or Standard Teacher Certification;
    • NJ Criminal History;
    • Work authorization in the U.S.;
    • Tuberculosis Test;
    • Experience is a plus.
