Job Summary
Positions: Preschool Teacher 2-5 yrs. Qualifications: Must have the following:
Associate Teacher: 12 ECE units
Teacher: 24 ECE units + 16 GE units
Master Teacher: Teacher + 6 units in specialization + 2 adult supervision units
or
This can be either of the following permits:
Regular Children's Center instructional permit
Limited Children's Center instructional permit
Emergency Children's Center instructional permit
Child Development Master Teacher Permit
Child Development Teacher Permit
Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (Note: This permit authorizes the holder to supervise Assistant Permit holders and an Aide.
Or
A current credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing authorizing teaching service in elementary school or a single subject credential in home economics, and 12 units in ECE and/or CD or two years experience in early childhood education or a childcare and development program.
Responsibilities:
-Supervise children at all times, and maintain a safe environment in the classroom
-Set up age appropriate classroom material and activities
-Maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children
-Curriculum planning and plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-Must clear fingerprinting, background check, health screening and TB test (all teachers)
-Minimum of 12 + ECE units and at least 1 years classroom experience
-Pediatric First Aid and CPR certified and current (if not we can train you)
-Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices
-Ability to communicate with children, staff, and parents
-Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
-Assume equal share of joint responsibilities
-Loving and nurturing personality
-Punctual, dependable, patient, and flexible
-Change diapers/potty training
