Description of the Project

The internship will focus on the development of quantum algorithms for optimisation (e.g., Quantum Approximate Optimisation Algorithm (QAOA)) using a simulator, tools and optimisation techniques already implemented. More specifically, the focus will be on investigating advanced training methods such as Natural Gradient optimisation. The project will also build on previous work on Branch-and-Bound methods, with the objective of connecting them to the QAOA simulation framework and adapting the full pipeline to Quandela’s fault-tolerant quantum computing architecture. The expected outcome is a functional QAOA simulator and a complete BnB-QAOA framework tailored to Quandela’s architecture.
