Job Description

 Bus Monitor- Monday- Friday 4.5 hours/day


 


 


Job Description



  • Assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation to handicapped students 

  • Assist the bus driver in handling wheelchair riders 

  • Assist the bus driver in case of an emergency 

  • Maintain discipline on the bus 

  • Assist individual students as needed 

  • Assist with personal hygiene issues 

  • Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director 


 


Minimum Qualifications



  • High School graduate, or GED.

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds

  • Possess a current First Aid Card 

  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions 

  • Must be able to work patiently with special needs students 

  • Agility to enter and exit the bus using the emergency exit 

  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Transportation Director 


 


Terms of Employment



  • Starting Date:    03/02/2025 unless otherwise specified, 25-26 School Year

  • Salary:              $19.56-$24.83 hourly per PSE Salary Schedule 2025-2026 School Year

  • Hours:              4.5 Hours/day- 2.25 AM and 2.25 PM

  • Benefits:           Retirement (Department of Retirement Systems), medical, dental, and life insurance benefits (SEBB                              through HCA)
