Personal Support Specialists (PSS) provide
hands-on assistance with daily living for older adults with functional
limitations and people with disabilities. PSSs provide services related to a
member’s physical requirements for assistance with Activities of Daily Living
(ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). A PSS provides
these services according to an authorized plan of care, which can be different
depending on where and who they are working with.
The PSS (Personal Support Specialist) is responsible for
providing excellent, resident-centered, personal care. This care includes
assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility. In
addition, the PSS will help with meal service, laundry, housekeeping and other
tasks as assigned. The successful candidate is a compassionate, patient
caregiver with high energy and a strong desire to make a positive difference in
the lives of our residents.

As a PSS, you will help create a caring environment as part of a
clinical team, focusing on providing personal support to your Residents
in an Assisted Living environment. Getting to know your Residents is one
of the most rewarding parts of this job!
PSS Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Personal Support Specialist Certification OR not yet a PSS, we will train you!
- Grow your career: We providing training to become a Certified Residential Medication Aide – which allows you to receive an immediate pay increase!
- Experience with or desire to spend your work day caring for people, especially those who are older and/or chronically ill.
- Focus on a high-level of customer service.
- Ability to work with independence, flexibility, good judgment, verbal communication, creating a safe environment, positive customer relationships.
