Position Overview

Uniti is seeking a motivated and technically capable Intern, Business Advancement to support initiatives focused on artificial intelligence, process automation, and digital business transformation. This internship is ideal for a college student interested in applying software development, coding, and analytical skills to real-world business challenges.

The intern will work across business and technology functions to assist with identifying automation opportunities, supporting AI-enabled solutions, improving workflows, and contributing to technical development efforts. This role offers hands-on experience with Python, C, automation platforms, reporting tools, and AI technologies in a collaborative enterprise environment.

This position is well suited for a student who is curious, innovative, and eager to gain practical experience at the intersection of technology, business process improvement, and intelligent automation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the identification and evaluation of business processes that may benefit from automation, AI-enabled tools, or workflow redesign.
  • Assist with the design, development, testing, and documentation of process automation and AI solutions.
  • Apply coding skills, particularly in Python and C, to support scripting, prototyping, automation, data processing, and technical problem-solving.
  • Help develop and maintain scripts, logic flows, and lightweight applications that improve operational efficiency and business processes.
  • Assist in building and refining solutions using enterprise tools such as Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps, Copilot Studio, and related platforms.
  • Support AI-related initiatives, including prompt development, workflow integration, use case testing, and intelligent assistant development.
  • Participate in process discovery and documentation activities, including workflow mapping, business requirement gathering, and solution documentation.
  • Assist with data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development to measure project progress, automation effectiveness, and business impact.
  • Collaborate with business, operations, IT, and data teams to support project execution, solution testing, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Help ensure solutions are documented, tested, and aligned with company standards for security, governance, data privacy, and responsible AI use.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated academic or project-based experience in software development, programming, automation, or AI-related work.
  • Working knowledge of Python.
  • Familiarity with C programming.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Copilot Studio, or similar automation and low-code platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and tools, including large language models, prompt design, copilots, and intelligent agents.
  • Experience with APIs, scripting, data transformation, testing, debugging, or system integrations.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Experience through coursework, projects, internships, hackathons, or student organizations related to automation, software development, analytics, or digital transformation.

  • Foundational coding ability with emphasis on Python and exposure to C.
  • Interest in applying technology to improve business processes and operational performance.
  • Ability to analyze workflows and translate business needs into logical technical solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail in coding, testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and enterprise platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments.
