Job Summary/Basic Function


The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#213300) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026.


The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching five (5) courses each semester, with university service or research not required.


Required Education


A terminal degree in philosophy is required by the appointment date.


Other Desirables


Applicants with a specialization in early modern philosophy will receive special consideration.
