About UTemp


UTemp is the University of Washington’s internal staffing office, connecting qualified professionals with temporary, hourly-paid positions across UW’s campuses and medical centers, including Seattle, UW Bothell, UW Tacoma, and remote/hybrid roles. We provide departments with skilled, customer service-oriented staff for a variety of non-permanent positions, ranging from entry-level to professional.

  • Covering an employee’s leave of absence (e.g., medical, parental, or vacation leave).

  • Supporting special projects that require additional help.

  • Managing seasonal or peak workload demands.

  • Providing interim support during organizational changes.

  • Bridging gaps caused by unexpected staff turnover.

Assignment Details

  • UTemp assignments can last from a single day to several months, but typically not exceeding one year.

  • Positions are at-will and may be extended or ended at any time.

  • After completing an assignment through UTemp, you are welcome to be considered for additional opportunities.
