Job Description
WifOR is an independent economic research institute, founded in 2009 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Darmstadt. As experts in macroeconomic analysis, our research focuses on the areas of labor markets, health, and sustainability. Through our studies, WifOR’s mission is to enable data-based solutions to challenges on the labor market, set global standards in Impact Measurement, and illuminate the value of health investments worldwide. WifOR has over 75 employees located in Germany and Greece.

Work in our Business Unit Labor Market as the connection between politics, society, and business on empirical projects in labor market research. With our in-house developed Labor Market Intelligence platform, the team translates research into practical formats that support strategic workforce decisions. Join the team as a Senior Researcher (f/m/x) and help create labor market–specific evidence for our clients.
  • You are responsible for collecting and analyzing labor market evidence using quantitative methods (e.g.,  econometrics and forecasting)
  • You actively contribute to studies and consulting projects with direct practical relevance
  • You prepare results for national and international clients (e.g., foundations, trade unions, or ministries) and present them
  • You gradually take on project responsibility (including client management)
  • If you are interested and have the relevant expertise, you can actively support the further development of our LMI platform
  • A completed university degree in economics or social sciences (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree)
  • At least two years of relevant experience in research, consulting, or policy
  • Strong quantitative skills in econometrics, empirical analysis, and forecasting
  • Experience with Python (or similar) is an advantage
  • A solution-oriented research mindset and enjoyment of working in a team
  • Interest in labor market topics (Germany/EU)
  • Very good German skills (C1/C2) and good English skills
