Job Description

SUMMARY: Assists with the provision of safe, healthy, and appetizing food services to meet the needs and preferences of each resident.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • • Serve meals promptly, ensuring food is hot, appealing, and presented properly.

    • Provide friendly, attentive service to residents during all meal periods.

    • Assist with light cooking or basic food preparation as directed.

    • Set dining areas before meals and clean tables, chairs, and service areas after meals.

    • Maintain cleanliness of dining rooms, service stations, and beverage areas.

    • Put away deliveries and rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.

    • Restock items such as beverages, condiments, and paper goods as needed.

    • Follow all sanitation, food safety, and infection-control guidelines.

  • Help residents with needs such as carrying trays or retrieving items.

    • Communicate resident feedback or concerns to the Dining Director or Cook.

    • Participate in required meetings and training sessions.

    • Support kitchen staff during peak times or special events.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

Previous experience in dining service, hospitality, or senior living preferred.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

• Basic knowledge of safe food-handling practices.

• Compassionate attitude and commitment to serving older adults.
