    School Nutrition Services Worker III (Part-Time)

     


    About the Job:

     

    Township High School District 214 is looking for part-time School Nutrition Services Workers Grade III. In this role, you'll work 5 hours each day that students are in school.

     

    As a School Nutrition Services Worker III, you'll perform various kitchen duties and support our school nutrition program. This includes preparing and serving food to students and staff, and making sure all food service areas are safe and clean.

     

    The pay starts at $21.08 per hour. You might work at one of these locations:

     
    • Buffalo Grove High School

    • Elk Grove High School

    • John Hersey High School

    • Prospect High School

    • Rolling Meadows High School

    • Wheeling High School

    • Forest View Educational Center

     

     

     

    What You Will Do:

     

    Under the direction of the food service manager, you will:

     
    • Help prepare food using large-scale cooking methods and approved recipes.

    • Follow safe and clean food handling rules.

    • Portion food nicely and correctly, and weigh/measure accurately.

    • Help clean and sanitize equipment and facilities.

    • Serve food at all stations in the cafeteria and snack bar.

    • Help with preparing, serving, and cleaning up for special events.

    • Perform duties in cooking, vending, and keeping records.
       

     

    What We Need From You (Qualifications):

     

    You should be able to:

     
    • Lift at least 40 pounds. (This is about the weight of a large bag of flour or sugar.)

    • Stand for at least 3 hours without stopping.

    • Bend, stoop (bend down), and reach often.

    • Work in places that can be hot, cold, or wet. You should also be able to adjust to different situations.

    • Operate food preparation equipment.

    • Have completed a Food Service Sanitation course and received a Sanitation Certification, or be able to take the course and get certified within one school year.
