Combination Pipefitter / Welder – Fabrication Shop

Comfort Systems USA Southwest is a leading commercial mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems across Arizona. We are seeking an experienced Combination Pipefitter / Welder to join our fabrication shop team supporting commercial and industrial projects.

What You’ll Do

• Layout, fit, and fabricate piping spools and assemblies from shop drawings and isometrics
• Weld pipe using SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), and/or GMAW (MIG) per approved WPS
• Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper piping
• Safely operate shop equipment (band saws, bevelers, grinders, etc.)
• Maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards in a shop environment

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of pipefitting and welding experience in commercial or industrial construction
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and isometrics
• Strong fit‑up, layout, and welding skills
• Experience working in a fabrication shop environment
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Preferred

• ASME Section IX or AWS welding certifications
• OSHA 10/30
• Forklift or overhead crane experience
• Experience with hydronic, HVAC, or process piping

Position Details

• Full‑time, fabrication shop position
• Occasional overtime based on workload
• Arizona‑based shop with limited field support as needed
