Summary
Tired of Clinical Exhaustion? Why Your Next BCBA Role Should Be About Growth, Not Just Caseloads.
BCBAs, you know the drill. You scroll through job listings or maaaaybe you read one of the 984 recruiter emails. They all sound the same: Competitive salary! Great benefits! Manage a caseload!
But what about the things that actually keep you in the field—and happy? How about growth, real support (not just saying “right” words), and the feeling that your clinical skills are sharp and up to date (adios compliance training).
At Sonnenberg, we operate on a simple principle: the highest clinical outcomes are impossible without the best clinical environment. We're not just hiring for an open seat; we’re looking for a dedicated BCBA to join a team and a culture that actually values depth, development, and a healthy work-life balance above all else.
What do we mean? We are too aware of the burnout, fatigue and isolation in this field, so we decided to do something about it.
The Sustainable Practice BCBA Model: Our Core Commitments
In a world of "too good to be true" job posts, we’re choosing a different path. At Sonnenberg, we know the flashy promises of "work in your sweats" often come with hidden costs—like overwhelming caseloads and a lack of real support. At our clinic, we’ve traded the gimmicks for something better: true transparency and the clinical mentorship you’ve been looking for! We offer a sustainable schedule and 3 weeks of starting PTO because we believe in quality over quantity—for our clients and for our clinicians
We don't just say we value growth—we invest in it.
Dedicated Learning Budget: You get an annual CEU/conference stipend and paid time off specifically for that professional training. Invest in yourself and go to that OBM workshop you've been eyeing!
Built-in Mentorship: Every BCBA is paired with seasoned Directors for personalized supervision, case consultation, and goal development that goes beyond just compliance.
Specialized Tracks: Interested in severe behavior, assent-based practice, or working with teens? We support your clinical curiosity with structured paths of development and career opportunities.
Professional Progression: Ongoing training on new developments and techniques in the field. Effective teaching methods focused on your growth. In-house CEUs and workshops.
2. Engineered for Focus
Your mission is clinical excellence for your clients and caregivers. Our mission is to eliminate the extra friction. You are a clinician—not a scheduler or a billing expert.
Limited Administrative Burden: Our dedicated admin team handles it all: billing, scheduling, and insurance authorizations. Your mental energy is protected so you can focus on what matters most!
Team Dynamics Management: We use an effective 3-tiered staffing model with a built-in supervisor for technician training and development. Your current priority is clinical care, not staff management.
We Handle the Coaching: You’ve developed an effective BIP. Now, let our Safety Care Support Team step in. We’ll provide expert coaching to your staff, ensuring consistent implementation and allowing you to immediately return to your other priorities.
Stimuli: Save time on administrative tasks. Whether it's the fifth "chase me" PECS icon or a new morning routine visual schedule, we offer the resources you need, ready to go.
3. A Work Environment Where You Belong
Clinical excellence is collaborative, not solitary.
Weekly Peer Consultation: This is your protected, confidential time for deep-dive collaboration. Join your peers on and off the floor to focus exclusively on complex cases, ethical dilemmas, and current research—a true BCBA brainstorm.
Culture of Feedback: We maintain an open clinical environment. We don't just teach ABA principles, we live them. We use compassionate communication to deliver proactive, high-quality feedback and reinforcement across all interactions—client, caregiver, and student analyst.
Environment of Support: When things don’t go as planned, we collaborate. Have a question or scenario that is not within your expertise, we got you!
Team Syncs: We host recurring, fun events focused on building strong peer relationships, and replacing isolation with collective energy and genuine support. Axe throwing anyone?
4. Work life balance
Come to a place where focus is actually about modeling and reinforcing self care in all forms.
Time to Recharge: Start off with 3 weeks of PTO and see it grow to 5 weeks over time. Plus this clinic is closed for 9 holidays, which equals additional paid time off for you.
Dedicated Weekly WFH Day: Maximize your week by using this flexible time for focused productivity. We still value our in-office connection, but this time is essential for getting things done!
The Weekend Rule: Never work a weekend again. Period. Your personal time is protected and non-negotiable.
Always-On Scheduling Support: Tired of late-night texts about morning cancellations? Our 24/7 Call-In Line and dedicated Scheduler handle all client communications and scheduling changes for you. Get the notification, not the hassle.
If you're ready for a better way to practice, we'd love for you to join us at Sonnenberg!
