We are a growing eLearning company looking for more than just a "cutter and splicer." We are seeking a creative partner and video editor to help elevate our course content, YouTube videos, and short-form social media (Reels/TikTok).

We are looking for a freelance contract editor who can take raw footage and ideas, and turn it into engaging learning experiences and scroll-stopping social content. You will work with our content team via our project management platform to iterate and finalize assets. They will supply creative direction and raw footage, but we hope that you will be able to bring thoughts and expertise on more than just editing as well!

What You Will Do:

• Long-Form Editing: Edit educational course modules and YouTube long form content using Descript.
• Short-Form Editing: Create and repurpose content into engaging Instagram Reels and TikToks using distinct editing styles suitable for those platforms. Again, using Descript.
• Creative Input: Bring your own ideas to the table! We want you to suggest styles, visual effects, b-roll, or other tools (e.g. Runway) that could improve our production values.
• Asset Management: Organize and manage projects directly within Descript and Google Drive.

Requirements (Non-Negotiables):

• Descript Mastery: We edit exclusively in Descript. Deliverables will be Descript project links, not just rendered video files.
• Availability: Ideally be available for occasional quick turnarounds (within 48 hours) for time-sensitive social media posts. Most content will have weeks-long lead times.
• Basic Audio Engineering: Ability to clean up audio (remove background noise, equalize levels, etc.) is essential.

Bonus Skills (Great to have):

• After Effects / Motion Graphics: Ability to add polish to key moments.
• Canva: For creating thumbnails or quick assets.

Other Details:

• Volume: Variable. Some months are heavier than others based on our product development cadence and social media needs (sales, launches, etc.).
• This is a 1099 contract.
