Remote with 75% Travel
Description

LightGrid is hiring a Field Engineer. Active SECRET is required. This position requires 75% Travel CONUS and OCONUS. 


  The Timing system field engineer will be involved in inspection and verification of DISA’s Timing system.  This system includes cesium clock(s), GPS receiver(s), distribution amplifier, computer, fiber distribution unit and remote timing unit.

Job duties involve using an oscilloscope, RF network analyzer, independent GPS receiver to verify time delays and offsets.  Also includes logging in into/telneting into the equipment to verify the configurations. Inspection of the installation to confirm equipment is mounted correctly, labels are correct, system is grounded properly, fiber and coax cables are properly secured, and antennas are mounted correctly. 

This job requires attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, installation skills and Microsoft office experience. The expectation is when you leave the site the timing suite is installed, configured, calibrated and a trip report is generated. 

Experience with Linux is a plus, some of the equipment is running Linux OS. 

Requirements

  Experience in at least one of the following

Telco installation

Inspecting fiber cables/connectors

Inspecting RF cable/connectors

Must understand basic networking and have Microsoft office skills

Experience traveling for the DOD a plus
