Job Description

The Recreation Attendant is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and memorable experience for children ages 4-12 enrolled in the resort’s supervised kids program. This role requires the ability to independently supervise children in a structured setting while leading creative, age-appropriate activities that reflect the resort’s service standards and commitment to excellence.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Providing outstanding, friendly guest service at all times.
  • Set up,monitor, and break down recreational activities and equipment.
  • Ensure activity areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and hotel policies in all recreation spaces.
  • Engage guests of all ages in scheduled activities and events.
  • Communicateguest feedback and operational concerns to leadership.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities, events, and services.
  • Supervise and engage children ages 4-12 in organized activities and daily drop offs without direct parental supervision.
  • Keep Kids’ Club facility presentable at all times.
  • Ensure that the work area is always clean, neat, and organized.
  • Attend required meetings daily, weekly, and monthly. 
  • Always follow procedures for daily duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that members and guests are being charged correctly.
  • Be available and prepared toworka flexible schedule including morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts, as well as holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and CPR/First Aid certified.
  • Previousexperience in hospitality childcare, youth programs, or camp settings preferred; lifeguard certification is a plus.
  • Energetic, outgoing, and able to communicate effectively with children, families, and team members.
  • Report to work on time in proper uniform andmaintainpersonal appearancein accordance withcompany standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, support all safety programs, andimmediatelyreport any accidents or incidents.
  • Use caution in potentially hazardous areas such as slippery floors or congested spaces.
  • Ensure proper safety instructions are provided beforeoperatingequipment or leading activities.
  • Help create a safe, fun, and welcoming Kids’ Club environment for young guests and their families.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate and work well with fellow employees andmaintaina presentable appearance,behaviorand mannerat all times.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee willbe requiredto stand for extended periods oftime,sometimes in the same place. 
  • The job willentail constant communication at all timesto communicate where you are and to communicate the task at hand.
  • The job will require you to use your hands constantly for cutting, grabbing, lifting, washing, touching,sensingand holding items.
  • You willbe requiredto walk often at a safe pace. 
  • The employee occasionallyis required tosit;and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Must be able to withstandhigh temperaturesbehind the line.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is generally performed indoors or outdoors. Will be exposed to heat.
