Reports to: Marketing & Communications Manager 

Status: Part-time Internship (approximately 90 hours per semester) 

Compensation: $22 per hour

Organization Description 





Food For Thought (FFT) is a nonprofit that fosters health and healing with food and compassion. Our life-sustaining, comprehensive services include weekly groceries and medically tailored meals, vitamins and supplements, and nutrition education to Sonoma County residents impacted by a range of serious medical conditions.  





Located in Forestville in a beautiful building surrounded by organic gardens, FFT operates with a staff of 26 and over 800 active volunteers. Our agency operates with a culture of philanthropy, in which there is tremendous involvement by board, staff, and volunteers to support our fundraising efforts. The values of community, healing, excellence, and kindness are deeply ingrained in the culture of the agency, which seeks to provide both food and love to our clients. 





Position Summary 





The Marketing & Social Media Intern supports the Marketing & Communications Manager in developing and executing digital content that amplifies Food For Thought’s mission, programs, and community impact. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, digital storytelling, and social media strategy. 





The intern will assist in creating engaging multimedia content, monitoring social media trends, and supporting campaign execution across multiple platforms. This role is ideal for a student or emerging professional interested in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, or social media management. 





Key Responsibilities 





Social Media Content & Campaigns 







  • Assist with planning and executing social media campaigns across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube 









  • Create engaging digital content including short-form videos, graphics, captions, and stories 









  • Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social platforms 







Content Management & Publishing 







  • Schedule and publish posts using social media management tools such as Buffer and Meta Business Suite 









  • Support the development of editorial calendars and campaign timelines 







Trend Monitoring & Engagement 







  • Research emerging social media trends, cultural conversations, and platform features to help inform content strategy 









  • Assist with community engagement and identifying opportunities to expand reach and visibility 







Partnership & Outreach Support 







  • Support influencer outreach and assist with coordinating partnership opportunities that align with FFT’s mission 







Analytics & Reporting 







  • Track social media performance metrics and assist in preparing analytics reports 









  • Help evaluate campaign effectiveness and recommend improvements 







Paid Social Media 







  • Provide support for paid social media advertising campaigns, including content preparation and monitoring performance
