Job Description

The Language Access Specialist, with the leadership and support of the Agape Director and Agape Food Bank and Social Services Manager, will work to support guests of Agape Service Project’s social services with language needs, working for language justice.



 



 



RESPONSIBILITIES:



• Work with the Agape team to accomplish the program mission and goals



• Build relationships while working with the farmworker families, fellow staff, youth, and adult leaders



• Work to build a hospitable, dignified, and joy-filled environment in any space we encounter the farmworker community; invite volunteers to co-create this environment through modeling and instruction



• Organize and operate the social services of Agape including Agape Food Bank & mobile food distribution



o Mobilize and manage volunteers to set up, organize, run, and clean up Agape Food Bank and food distribution



o Register and check in households at Agape Food Bank with client intake system



o Interface with food bank guests at key locations where bilingual staff are needed (check-in, check-out, parking lot, refrigerators, etc.)



• Serve the Spanish-speaking community with language access
