Job Description

Summary:

Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a qualified Audio-Visual Specialist to support the United States Army Fires Center of Excellence (USAFCoE), Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) office. The Audio-Visual Specialist will provide technical and administrative coordination of all customer and Contractor generated IT work orders through the work order system, which is currently Army Enterprise Service Management Platform (AESMP).

 

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily onsite operational and sustainment support for installed classroom audiovisual equipment, including networking and TEAMS video conferencing for Fires Classroom Program (FCP) classrooms.
  • Maintain a daily log of performance tasks, customer requests, and known issues; track and capture workload using the AESMP and SharePoint ticketing systems.
  • Provide status reports of daily activities, recurring issues, and classroom maintenance; capture daily and weekly sustainment reporting requirements via the SharePoint ticketing system and FCP repository.
  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance on installed AV equipment by cleaning projectors and equipment cabinets, changing filters and projector lamps, and ensuring equipment is functional.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve classroom equipment issues; replace parts as required and maintain accountability of equipment and repair parts.
  • Serve as the classroom support representative for the FCP, maintaining routine communication with the COR and performing weekly inventory of shelf stock equipment.
  • Maintain the common operating picture of all FCP classrooms and ensure they are fully functional and operating as designed.
  • Enter sustainment tickets into the SharePoint ticketing system, monitor tickets until completion, and provide COR monthly reports of work completed or pending.
  • Report daily issue of bulbs and repair parts by classroom, coordinate with FCP technical support to resolve issues, and restore classrooms to full functionality.
  • Interpret audiovisual signal flow wiring diagrams and schematics and repair communication cabling as needed.
  • Document shipping and receiving equipment repair or replacement parts; produce audio products for presentations, ceremonies, conferences, and other events and set up equipment for others to use.
  • Receive requests for audiovisual equipment and set up to record ceremonies and events; conduct site surveys to determine power access, furniture arrangement, and speaker requirements.
  • Determine quantity and configuration of equipment; pack, transport, install, adjust, maintain, and operate audiovisual equipment to support command events.
  • Test systems before events, monitor output, and adjust mixers, filters, and equalizers to ensure high‑quality sound reproduction.
  • Develop and manage the audiovisual loaner program by maintaining, issuing, and receiving equipment and provide instructions and briefings on the use of AV systems and instructional technology.
  • Perform audiovisual setup for special events and respond to service requests within required timelines – two hours for classroom support and four hours for other requests.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or three (3) years of technically related field experience providing audiovisual support.
  • InfoComm International Certification in Audiovisual Technology; CTS Installation certification preferred; certifications must remain current.
  • Basic Crestron, AMX, Biamp, and Extron training within 120 days of contract award (training at contractor’s expense).
  • Basic knowledge of equipment settings for normal operation of audiovisual and information technology systems.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and climb/work at heights of 20 feet.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
