Group Overview 

Aerospace Engineering Group (AERO) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea’s aviation engineering and integration capabilities, focusing on aircraft modification, system integration, and technical project management. AERO takes mission requirements and transforms them into operational assets by designing, engineering, and integrating new systems and technologies. The group manages aviation project lifecycles, from concept to testing, ensuring aircraft modifications meet performance, safety, and airworthiness standards. With a unified structure, AERO leverages its engineering expertise and project management capabilities to enhance Metrea’s aviation fleet, supporting a range of specialized operations through innovation and technical excellence.

Position Summary 

This role is primarily responsible for structural maintenance on Metrea type aircraft undergoing heavy modifications. However, when structural duties are not required, they will be called upon to complete other routine aircraft maintenance within the department.  A Structures Technician will have structural modification and composite experience. The ideal Structures Technician will have an A&P License and experience with King Air and Challenger type aircraft. The Structures Technician will demonstrate the skills required to successfully accomplish any structural task assigned. While the Structures Technician reports to the Structures Lead, they are expected to work with minimal supervision on routine maintenance tasks.

 

 

Role and Responsibilities 

 

  • Perform structural and composite repairs and modifications in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM manuals, and company standards. 
  • Interpret and apply technical data from maintenance manuals, schematics, service bulletins, and engineering instructions. 
  • Fix or replace damaged skin, bulkheads, longerons, control surfaces (ailerons, flaps), and other structural parts.
  • Work with minimal supervision on routine maintenance tasks and assist in developing solutions to complex technical issues. 
  • Adequate skills to effectively complete structure task(s) including sheet metal and composites of assigned projects.
  • Form, cut, drill, and assemble new structural components using metal, fiberglass, and other materials.  
  • Communicate with the Structures Lead to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and aircraft readiness. 
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, and compliance protocols during maintenance operations. 
  • Support aircraft inspections and modification programs as required. 
  • Assist enforcement of company and departmental policies.

 

Skills and Experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Aircraft Structures Experience and knowledge of Aircraft Systems
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the organization.
  • Preferred Certifications and Licenses: A&P Certificate
  • Computer Skills: Basic Computer Skills

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications 

Proficient in Maintenance Technical Publications, Structural Inspection and Repair Manual, AMOS, and Veryon / FlightDocs for aircraft maintenance tracking, documentation, and compliance.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical working hours from Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Work Environment
 
This job operates primarily in a hangar or flight line environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions, loud noise, and aircraft systems. The role may require standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Technicians must adhere to strict safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasional travel and overtime may be required to support operational demands
