Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE: Human Resources Director                     DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

 

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt                   

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plan and formulate personnel procedures.

- Ensure compliance with applicable employment law and regulations.

- Coordinate staffing, recruitment, selection and orientation of all employees.

- Assist in coordination of staff training and educational assistance.

- Coordinate employee performance evaluations, promotions, demotions, transfers and  terminations.

- Administer classification and compensation programs.

- Administer employee benefit plans and programs and serve on Worker Benefit Committee.

- Implement and monitor appropriate disciplinary and appeal procedures.

- Respond to unemployment insurance claims on behalf of the Tribe.

- Overall responsibility to maintain personnel and payroll records.

- Evaluate personnel procedures and recommend revisions and updates as necessary.

- Comply with confidentiality guidelines.

- Present timely recommendations/amendments of the Employee Handbook to the Tribal Council.

- Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Personnel Management and four years of professional level       experience in personnel, business, or management or an equivalent combination of   education     and experience.

- Prefer experience working in Indian tribal organizations.

- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Be knowledgeable and proficient in P.C. word processing, spreadsheet, Internet and e-mail.

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in teambuilding and teamwork.

- Must submit to and successfully complete background investigation.

 

SUPERVISION:

- Will be supervised by the Executive Director.

 

SALARY:

- Annual Salary: $73,070.40 - $117,686.40
