Job Description

Harbourview Senior Living, 60 bed-skilled nursing facility in North Bergen, New Jersey, seeks a UNIT CLERK/ CENTRAL SUPPLY for all nursing units. The Unit Clerk is responsible for assisting the planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing unit by performing clerical and receptionist duties. The Central Supply duites you are responsible for maintaing Cenral Supply, ordering on Omnicare bi-weekly as needed for the bulding,distribution of  daily supplys for all floors.

 
Duties Include:
  • Basic administrative office functions; filing & data entry
  • Typing reports & correspondence as required, Assisting with the admissions/discharge process
  • Scheduling appointments for Residents when needed
  • Initiating & coordinating transportation approvals & schedules
  • Relaying vital information to Nursing Staff & Medical Team
  • Maintain medical records as per protocol, file medical charts as required
  • Provide unit staff with employee manuals & forms
  • Inventories unit/office supplies & performs all other related duties
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Pleasant phone manner & strong computer skills
  • Solid organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience in LTC settings a plus
  • Should be friendly and a team worker
  • Positive attitude and energy are a must!!
  • Dependable and willing to work!

 

Duties Includes:

. Responsible for maintaining and keeping Central Supply clean. Keep records of all inventories.

Inventories and monitors central supply levels so that proper par levels are achieved. Conducts weekly, monthly, annual physical inventory, according to procedure.

Daily supplies for all floors.

Place orders for nursing supplies bi-weekly and as needed via computer, and fax. Receives inventories, restocks supply levels in designated staff accessible supply points as needed daily.

Secures emergency or critical items: monitors cost and maintain related records.

Keep log on all supplies removed from supply room.

Communicates with nursing staff and Omnicare on needs.

Responsible for distribution, keeping accurate records of equipment.

Other duties as assigned by management.
