Job Summary
The Production Supervisor – Feed Mill is responsible for overseeing daily feed manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective production of finished feeds in accordance with quality standards, formulation requirements, and regulatory compliance. This role leads production personnel, ensures proper operation of feed mill equipment, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production targets.

The Production Supervisor – Feed Mill is responsible for overseeing daily feed manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective production of finished feeds in accordance with quality standards, formulation requirements, and regulatory compliance. This role leads production personnel, ensures proper operation of feed mill equipment, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production targets.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Feed Mill Operations & Production Control
- Supervise daily feed manufacturing activities including raw material receiving, grinding, batching, mixing, pelleting, cooling, crumbling, and bagging.
- Ensure production output meets daily and weekly plans, formulation accuracy, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor feed mill equipment performance (hammer mills, mixers, pellet mills, conveyors, bagging machines)
- Coordinate production changeovers based on feed types and customer specifications.
- Minimize downtime, wastage, rework, and material losses.
- Lead and supervise mill operators, loaders, baggers, and maintenance support personnel.
- Allocate manpower by shift and ensure proper task assignment and skill coverage.
- Conduct pre‑shift briefings and shift handovers.
- Train operators on SOPs, equipment operation, feed safety, and housekeeping.
- Enforce discipline, attendance, and company policies.
- Ensure strict compliance with feed formulations, batching accuracy, and quality specifications.
- Implement and monitor GMP, HACCP, ISO, and feed safety programs.
- Prevent cross‑contamination between feed types, medications, or additives.
- Address quality deviations through root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance for sampling, testing, and documentation.
- Enforce safety rules, PPE usage, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of raw materials, additives, and finished feeds.
- Conduct safety inspections, safety toolbox, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
- Promote a strong safety culture in dusty, high‑noise feed mill environments.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health, fire safety, and environmental policies.
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Purchasing for raw material availability.
- Monitor usage of grains, additives, and packaging materials.
- Reduce spillage, dust loss, and product contamination.
- Ensure proper identification, segregation, and FIFO of materials.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Report abnormal equipment conditions and support troubleshooting efforts.
- Ensure machines are operated within designed parameters.
- Support cleanliness, lubrication, and basic autonomous maintenance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, yield, pellet quality, and energy efficiency.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and yield improvement initiatives.
- Reduce operational costs through better process control and waste minimization.
- Track and report key feed mill KPIs (output, yield, downtime, reject rates).
- Prepare daily production, downtime, and shift reports.
- Ensure accurate batch records, formulation logs, and production documentation.
- Communicate production issues, risks, and improvement actions to management.
- Support internal and external audits as required.

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science, Engineering, Feed Technology, or related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in feed mill or animal feed manufacturing operations
- Prior supervisory or shift‑lead experience preferred
- Knowledge of pelleting, grinding, mixing, and feed safety systems is an advantage
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills
- Good understanding of feed formulations and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and feed safety regulations
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in shift‑based operations
- Effective communication and reporting skills
- Plant‑based, dusty and noisy feed mill environment
- Shift work and overtime as required
- Exposure to grains, additives, and heavy machinery
- Reports to: Plant Manager / Production Manager
- Supervises: Feed Mill Operators, Bagging Crew, Loaders
