Description:
Forest Area Community Schools is seeking an elementary teacher. Forest Area Community Schools is a small district in northern Michigan which serves around 500 students, PreK-12, in the communities of Fife Lake and South Boardman.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Plan and implement activities to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students
- Develop weekly lesson plans utilizing district provided curriculum
- Help maintain and assist in the establishment of good school-community relations
- Regularly inform parents of program expectations, activities, and their child’s progress
- Be an active team member within a grade level PLC to assist in making data-driven decisions
- Be familiar with emergency procedures
- Assist administration in the implementation of school and board policies
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree with valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate
- Knowledge of requirements of state and federal mandates
- Experience highly preferred
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Student-focused approach
