Position Title: 

High Performance Team Leader (HPTL) - Utilities

Oglethorpe, GA

 

Pay Rate

$106,700-$130,500

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

Category/Shift:

Salaried Full-Time

Purpose:

Provide leadership and support within a high-performance work system to all facets of the manufacturing process while on shift. The High Performance Team Leader is responsible for team performance, team member engagement, and achieving manufacturing results on a shift-to-shift basis. Must support and exemplify the vision and organizational values of Global Cellulose Fibers, Flint River Mill.

About The Role:

The key accountabilities listed below are not considered to be all-inclusive; a team member may be required to perform additional tasks, as directed, and based on changing business needs of the company.

  • Supports and leads efforts at Flint River that include an injury-free environment through role modeling safe behavior, active involvement in safety activities, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Completes the First Line Leader (FLL) Onboarding/Proficiency Curriculum.
  • On the First Line with any issues teams encounter, staying up-to-date, and engaging with teams to resolve any issues that may arise
  • Coordinates and leads efforts to support high performance work teams.
  • Leadership role in ensuring team member relations, efforts, and processes are in place to maximize team member engagement and results.
  • Lead, provide guidance, and/or support teams as needed to achieve small team goals, daily responsibilities, and overall achievement of mill goals.
  • Manages daily shift operations in their assigned area and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Active shift leader, responsible for short-term (shift-to-shift) mill performance and long-term performance of small teams.
  • Provides feedback, coaching, support, and, when necessary, take corrective measures, to ensure all team members have a positive, productive, and safe work environment.
  • Provides coaching and training to team members as needed for technical, behavioral, and individual development opportunities.
  • Utilizes Unit Concurrent Team (UCT), as appropriate, to develop effective staffing plans and ensure team members’ flow to work as mill needs dictate.
  • Communicates as needed with team members and mill leadership for resolution of safety, quality, cost, production, and personnel issues.
  • Communicate and lead the application of facility policies and standards.
  • Lead one-to-ones, meeting with department leadership prior to ensure quality, holistic feedback is given
  • Work with APM’s to set and communicate expectations for each employee, holding employees accountable to those standards
  • Active in Individual Development Plans, working with employees to identify and close knowledge gaps
  • Leads Training Development while working with UCT and DLLs, and promptly scheduling training items
  • Coaches safety in others and leads by example.
  • Understands and meets internal and external customer requirements.
  • Develops, maintains, and uses reliable methods for all processes and their improvements.
  • Maintains and develops team relationships.
  • Positive, upbeat attitude that instills confidence in personal leadership ability.

  • Ensure an understanding of quality policy and support efforts for a positive customer experience.
  • Aid in the execution of mill-wide quality efforts as needed to help maintain mill quality standards.

About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum:
    • Demonstrates successful leadership ability in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of and leadership in manufacturing safety practices
    • Effectively model the Flint River Organizational Values, and commitment to leading Flint River to an injury-free work environment through leadership and role modeling safe behavior and personal attention to and direct involvement in safety activities and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
    • Must have high level of integrity, energy, and leadership ability to develop and lead others
    • Demonstrates successful ability to lead and continuously improve team performance in order to work injury-free, provide a quality product, and achieve world class productivity in support of a high-performance work system
    • Effective oral and written communication skills with proven ability to provide positive and improvement feedback, coaching opportunities, and take corrective measures as appropriate
    • Strong computer skills required
  • Preferred:
    • College degree
    • Excellent skills in organizing, planning, priority setting, and time management, with proven ability to adapt to sudden changes in the work environment
