  • Contribute to the design of investment mandates across public and private markets (Equities, Fixed Income, Private Markets, Real Estate, Mortgages), embedding ALM/SAA/TAA outcomes, insurance-specific and regulatory requirements, and return objectives into quantitative guidelines (benchmarks, risk budgets, etc.)
  • Ensure mandate oversight, monitoring relevant performance and risk metrics and escalating deviations via defined governance processes; conduct regular portfolio reviews with internal and external asset managers
  • Support efficient asset steering through active mandate management, including the preparation of assessments and recommendations for investment decisions 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to adapt mandate guidelines proactively in response to changing investment strategy needs, macroeconomic conditions, regulation or manager performance issues
  • Support make-or-buy recommendations for new and existing investment mandates, collaborating on manager selection processes (RFI/RFPs, due diligence, evaluation scoring) and ensuring fee competitiveness
  • Coordinate mandate changes, including manager onboarding and offboarding, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation
  • Prepare documentation and presentations for investment committees and other governance bodies
  • Contribute to ensuring that the Investment Mandates & Responsible Investment department acts as the central mandate owner and knowledge hub, maintaining governance, consistency, and alignment across mandates
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related field; CFA or equivalent designation preferred
  • 5-10 years of (insurance) asset management industry experience with a successful track record of delivering strategic and financial objectives
  • Broad asset class expertise with deep knowledge across Equities, Fixed Income, Private Markets, Real Estate, and Mortgages and a solid understanding of the global financial markets
  • Insurance-specific and mandate design expertise, including familiarity with Solvency II, SST, IFRS, local regulations, and strong understanding of ALM and balance sheet steering
  • Oversight capability, combining strong understanding of portfolio construction, performance related KPIs, and risk metrics with experience in mandate oversight and escalation processes; Confidence and resilience required to independently challenge internal and external portfolio managers
  • Technical and analytical proficiency, with advanced skills in portfolio analysis and data interpretation
  • Experience in RFI/RFP processes, due diligence, scoring, onboarding, and operational risk assessment is an advantage
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks is an advantage
  • Motivated individual with good stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Well-connected within the asset management industry
