What You'll Do

• Teach high school art courses
• Design engaging lessons in areas such as drawing, painting, design, and mixed media
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and artistic risk-taking
• Support students in developing both technical skills and creative thinking
• Display and celebrate student artwork within the school and community
• Build strong relationships with students and families
• Collaborate with colleagues to support student success
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture

Minimum starting salary: $50,000 for educators new to the profession
 (The 2026 - 27 starting salary schedule is pending board approval.)

Licensure / Endorsement Requirements

Preferred candidates will hold:

• K-8 Art - 113
• 5-12 Art - 114

Other applicable Iowa endorsements may also be considered.

Candidates who are eligible for licensure or are currently completing an approved teacher preparation program are encouraged to apply.
