Oswego Community Unit School District No. 308 Additional Information: Show/Hide - Illinois State Board of Education licensure requirements for a Substitute Teacher Assistant, including one of the following Illinois Professional Educator License with Stipulations - Paraprofessional or Professional Educator License, Substitute Teaching License, Short-Term Approval.
- In order to maintain an active pool of substitutes, the District requires a minimum of 10 days worked over the course of the school year to maintain an active profile as a substitute employee. Work history will be monitored so we can keep an active and robust list.
The school district provides workplace training for our different employee groups each year. SD308 uses an Internet-based training tutorial called Global Compliance Network to educate guest employees on a variety of topics. These training experiences are important because we are required by the State of Illinois to provide employees with basic training information about maintaining a safe work environment for both staff and students.

Description: Under the direction of a licensed teacher and/or administrator, the Substitute Teacher Assistant may be assigned to monitor and/or present and reinforce skills with small groups of students or one-on-one; to support students with disabilities by following educational and specific behavioral plans, modeling appropriate behaviors and interactions with students and staff; and assisting student by providing for special health care needs. May also assist with presenting lessons, preparing instructional materials, monitoring students in various non-classroom settings and/or assist in the administration of tests. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are willing to accept assignments on a regular basis.
Daily Rate of Compensation:$112.00 per full-day assignment and $56.00 per half-day assignment; eligible for incentive bonus after 30 days worked.
