Job Description

We are seeking shuttle drivers to work in the Worcester area. These are steady, local routes. We operate walk-on 14-passenger vehicles which do not require a CDL - however, if you have a CDL you get paid extra and are encouraged to apply!

Non-CDL drivers earn $19/hour to start. Applicants who already have a CDL (w/ P endorsement) earn $21/hour to start. 

VPA offers weekly payroll - get a check, direct deposit, or a pay card each week!

Currently, we are seeking FT or PT year-round drivers to work 6am-9am and/or 2pm-6pm Monday through Friday. (These are close to the actual shift times, but some flexibility will be needed).

We will consider staff who can work 2, 3, or 5 shifts per week. 

Other hours are also available.

 

Shuttle Driver- Job Description

The job responsibilities of a Shuttle Driver may vary depending on the location where the employee is scheduled to work. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
  • Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
  • Opening and closing doors for patrons
  • Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
  • Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendants
  • Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
  • Recording passenger counts and trip times
  • Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
  • Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.)
  • Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
  • Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
  • Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations

 

License required: valid class D (Non-CDL) license in good standing

Due to our insurance regulations, shuttle drivers must be at least 20 years old. 

A valid DOT Medical card is also required. (We will pay for qualified applicants to obtain their medical card if necessary - a simple DOT physical).

 

Professional driving experience is a plus.

Background checks and driving tests will be conducted.
