Job Description

 

Location: Etobicoke, ON

Reports To: Branch Manager

Status:   Permanent, FT

Work Shift: 8:30-5:00

Hourly Wage: $24 - $26/h based on experience

 

 

ARC Document Solutions provides high quality printed images and communication graphics to more than 90,000 customers worldwide. Our ARC/Riot Print Center in Etobicoke, ON is looking for an experienced Large Format Digital Print Specialist to join our team. If you have a background in large format digital printing, we encourage you to apply. This role is hands-on and requires knowledge of large format equipment, including experience in pre-press, printing, cutting, and finishing.

 

Role Overview: The Large Format Digital Print Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end production of high-quality digital prints. This role requires technical expertise in machine operation, color management, and workflow optimization to ensure all orders meet strict quality and deadline requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production Management: Receive and process large format print orders, strategically prioritizing tasks based on client deadlines, equipment capacity, and current workload.
  • Pre-Press & Proofing: Prepare digital proofs and provide expert recommendations on substrates, binding, and color workflow to optimize productivity and output quality.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and evaluate output in real-time; perform precise adjustments to color and image settings to ensure superior print fidelity.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues during the printing process to minimize downtime and material waste.
  • Finishing & Inspection: Conduct rigorous quality assurance checks on finished products to verify accuracy, dimensions, quantities, and overall craftsmanship.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, replenishing consumables, and replacing filters or waste components.
  • Order Fulfillment: Organize, wrap, and prepare completed projects for secure transit and delivery.
  • Reporting: Promptly communicate equipment malfunctions or significant production delays to the Production Manager.

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in large format digital color printing, including proficiency with industry-standard equipment and mounting materials.
  • Practical knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining rigorous quality and accuracy standards.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate complex job specifications clearly and concisely.
  • A self-motivated, resourceful professional capable of working independently with minimal oversight or collaboratively within a team.
  • A positive, solutions-oriented attitude with the flexibility to work overtime as dictated by production demands.
